RESEARCH AREA AND TEAM

Dr. Guotao Yang currently works as a professor at the School of Civil Engineering of Qingdao University of Technology. Prior to joining QUT, he worked as a post-doctoral research fellow for five years at UNSW Sydney (The University of New South Wales), Australia, where he focused on the climate adaptation engineering for extreme events (CAEx). He received his PhD (2013) and BSc (2008) from Department of Bridge Engineering of Tongji University, China. His interests include sustainability of composite structures, non-linearity of slender structures, probabilistic modeling of natural hazards, etc. Dr. Yang is the principal investigator of two NSFC projects related to composite structures and has been responsible for the consulting service of many long-span bridges. He has published more than 40 journal papers, and served as reviewer for many journals, including Journal of Bridge Engineering, Engineering Structures, etc.
